Crossing from Jordan to the Holy Land via the Allenby Bridge (King Hussein Bridge) is a common route for travelers. While the process may seem complicated, it is very manageable when you know what to expect.
Before You Travel: ETA Requirement
Before arriving at the border, all travelers must complete the ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
- Each traveler must apply individually online
- Approval should be obtained before arrival
- It is important to carry a copy (printed or digital)
1. Departure from Jordan
You will arrive at the Jordanian terminal near the bridge. Private vehicles are not allowed to cross, so all travelers must continue by shuttle bus.
VIP Service Option
Travelers can choose to cross using the VIP Service, which offers:
- Faster procedures
- Assistance through the terminals
- More comfort and less waiting time
This is a recommended option for those who prefer a smoother and quicker experience.
2. Shuttle Bus Transfer
A shuttle bus will take you from the Jordanian side to the Israeli side.
- The ride is short (around 10–15 minutes)
- You will pay a shuttle fee at the terminal
- Luggage is transferred with you
3. Departure Tax (Jordan Side)
Before leaving Jordan, you will need to pay a departure tax.
This is usually around 10 JOD (subject to change), so it’s good to have cash ready.
4. Arrival Procedures (Israeli Side)
On arrival, you will go through:
- Passport control
- Security checks
- Luggage screening
The process can take some time depending on the number of travelers, so patience is important.
5. Continue Your Journey
After crossing, you can meet your driver or guide and continue toward your destination.
